Yoko came to see us for treatment of her allergies. The skin had become reactive 1 year beforehand and had been treated with Apoquel, Cytopoint and various antibiotics. The skin itching was mainly on her underside and particularly on all her feet but had also spread into both ears at one time.

Skin reactions in dogs will usually start on the feet if the dogs are healthy or on an improving plane of health. From there, the usual places are the rear end, including the tail, and then the ears.

If this mechanism is blocked or interfered with, skin disease can spread to the abdomen then the back then lastly the head and face. Conventional medicine has treatments for skin allergy but no cure.

The main medicines used are Prednisolone, Apoquel and Cytopoint along with various antibiotics. Specialist dermatologists can also use allergy injections to try to desensitise the immune system, but these have no guarantee of success and need to be continued for years.

We treated Yoko with some Chinese herbal medicines to strengthen the skin and some homeopathic medicines to repair her immune system. Various homeopathic medicines were used and included Psorinum, Thuja, Morgan pure and Phosphorus. Gradually her hair all grew back, firstly underneath her body and finally on all feet.

Along with the improvement in her physical symptoms she has also become very well and strong in every way.
