Anxiety, Trauma & Behaviour Support for Dogs and Cats
Helping Pets Find Calm Again
Many anxious, fearful, or traumatised pets struggle despite trying multiple treatments. Dr Ed has developed a unique integrative approach that focuses on helping animals learn how to relax, regulate their nervous system, and feel safe again.
Rather than simply managing symptoms, Dr Ed teaches practical techniques that help dogs and cats build lasting emotional resilience and self-regulation.
Many clients report noticeable improvements within 2–8 weeks, including reduced anxiety, better coping skills, and a calmer, happier pet.
Dr Ed’s Approach
WEBB™ Relaxing Touch Massage
Dr Ed teaches pet owners a gentle massage technique from the Whole Energy Body Balance™ (WEBB™) method during Zoom consultations.
This relaxing touch helps activate your pet’s natural relaxation response. With regular practice, it can:
- Reduce anxiety and over-arousal
- Improve emotional regulation
- Help pets recover more quickly from stressful situations
- Support long-term nervous system health
Think of it as a daily “relaxation medicine” that teaches your pet how to feel calm and safe.
Kind Training Games
Dr Ed uses a range of gentle, reward-based training exercises designed to build:
- Emotional self-control
- Independence
- Confidence
- Resilience to stress
These practical games help pets develop healthier responses to everyday challenges while strengthening the bond between pet and owner.
Healthier Human-Animal Relationships
A pet’s emotional wellbeing is closely linked to their relationship with their family.
Dr Ed often finds that unclear boundaries, over-dependence, or unintentional reinforcement of anxious behaviours can contribute to ongoing anxiety problems.
His approach helps create healthier, more balanced relationships that support both confidence and emotional security.
What to Expect During Your Consultation
During a telehealth consultation, Dr Ed will:
- Review your pet’s history and current concerns
- Discuss contributing factors to anxiety, trauma, or behavioural issues
- Recommend appropriate holistic and integrative support options
- Teach you the WEBB™ Relaxing Touch technique
- Develop strategies to reduce and manage stress triggers
- Create an individualised plan tailored to your pet
If your pet is currently taking prescription anxiety medication, Dr Ed can discuss general considerations and provide recommendations for discussion with your regular veterinarian.
Recommended Treatment Plan
For most pets, the best results come from:
Initial Consultation: 60 minutes
Follow-Up Consultations: 30 minutes each
Follow-Up Consultations can be booked with Dr Ed, or with Nurse Bec who has completed WEBB Bodybalance certification with Dr Ed, and is also highly skilled in Chinese medical massage, acupuncture and other complementary therapies.
We generally recommend three follow-up consultations spaced 2–4 weeks apart to help monitor progress and refine your pet’s treatment plan.
Pets with severe anxiety, a history of trauma, or more complex behavioural challenges often benefit from ongoing support to achieve the best long-term outcomes.
